FFP is the acronym for Filtering Face Piece. Particle-filtering half masks are categorised on the basis of their filtering efficiency and are PPE. This particulate respirator fulfils the requirements of the European standard EN 149:2001 + A1:2009 and is designed to provide respiratory protection for the wearer. This 4-layer respirator has a filter efficiency of at least 94% against particles.

The Elipse P3 RD SPR299 and SPR501 reusable half masks are respirators with a level 3 (P3) particle filter. This respirator can be used wherever dust can be generated, e.g. when processing powders. This mask is the alternative to disposable masks (fine dust masks), see appendix. The P3 filters can be replaced. The service life of the filters is 1-4 weeks, depending on use. It is also interesting to note that this mask including filter can also be autoclaved up to 10 times at 121°C.
